Ronald Pierre

Ronald Pierre est né aux Gonaïves, la cité de l’Indépendance le 13 mai 1958. Il est le fils de feu M. Antenor PIERRE et de Mme Paulette MICHEL. Il était marié à Choupette AUGUSTIN, et de cette union sont nés deux enfants: Sheena PIERRE LIVERPOOL, mariée à Kevin Liverpool, et Ricardo PIERRE. Il a laissé également derrière lui deux petits-enfants: Ezra Kai Liverpool et Enzo Keller Liverpool. Il a  laissé ses frères et sœurs : Eddy Michel, Evens BoBo BEAUBRUN, Edith PIERRE, et Marguerite BREVIL ETIENNE.

Il a débuté ses études primaires à l’école François Volny à la rue Christophe. C’est là que sa supériorité intellectuelle par rapport aux autres enfants a été remarquée. Il a poursuivi ses études secondaires au Lycée Fabre Nicolas Geffrard pendant deux ans, puis au collège Adventiste du Cap Haïtien et ensuite au collège Adventiste de Diquini à Port-au-Prince.

Après ses études secondaires, grâce à son intelligence exceptionnelle pour les chiffres, il a intégré le prestigieux Institut Haïtien de Statistique et d’Informatique (IHST), aujourd’hui centre techniques de planification et d’économie appliquée (CTPEA) à Port-au-Prince, où il s'est spécialisé en sciences statistiques, devenant également épidémiologiste.

En tant que bon Gonaïvien engagé et passionné par sa ville natale, Ronald Pierre a consacré 40 ans de sa vie en tant que statisticien/épidémiologiste au service de la santé publique dans le département de l’Artibonite, en particulier aux Gonaïves.

Originaire de la zone « lòt bòt Kannal » ou carrefour Duperval, Ronald Pierre, aussi connu sous le nom de MÈT Chouchou, a été un citoyen modèle et un professeur de statistique à l’école de droits et des sciences économiques des Gonaïves. Il a également enseigné dans des écoles de sciences infirmières dans la ville des Gonaïves. Passionné de sport, notamment de football, il a été membre fondateur de l’équipe Gonaïvia, un grand dirigeant de football et trésorier de l’équipe Eclair de la ligue de football des Gonaïves.

Ronald Pierre était également un joueur exceptionnel, remportant le championnat national de jeu de dames et obtenant le titre de « Maître » dans ce jeu. Pour les jeux de domino et de "besik", il a été couronné « Expert ».

Ses élèves, étudiants, collaborateurs, voisins, amis et coéquipiers de jeux se souviendront du Maître et Expert Ronald Pierre qui nous a quittés le 1er décembre 2023 après un malaise.

Repose en paix Mèt CHOUCHOU, tu as bien joué ta partition sur cette terre.

Ronald Pierre was born in Gonaïves, the city of Independence, on May 13, 1958. He was the son of the late Mr. Antenor PIERRE and Mrs. Paulette MICHEL. He was married to Choupette AUGUSTIN, and from this union, two children were born: Sheena PIERRE LIVERPOOL, married to Kevin Liverpool, and Ricardo PIERRE. He also left behind two grandchildren: Ezra Kai Liverpool and Enzo Keller Liverpool. He left his brothers and sisters: Eddy Michel, Evens BoBo BEAUBRUN, Edith PIERRE, and Marguerite BREVIL ETIENNE.

He began his primary education at François Volny School on Christophe Street. It was there that his intellectual superiority over other children was noticed. He continued his secondary education at Lycée Fabre Nicolas Geffrard for two years, then at the Adventist College of Cap Haïtien, and later at the Adventist College of Diquini in Port-au-Prince.

After completing his secondary education, thanks to his exceptional aptitude for numbers, he joined the prestigious Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHST), now the Technical Center for Planning and Applied Economics (CTPEA) in Port-au-Prince, specializing in statistical sciences and becoming an epidemiologist.

As a committed and passionate Gonaïvian, Ronald Pierre dedicated 40 years of his life as a statistician/epidemiologist in public health in the Artibonite department, particularly in Gonaïves.

Originally from the "lòt bòt Kannal" area or Duperval Square, Ronald Pierre, also known as MÈT Chouchou, was a model citizen and a statistics professor at the School of Law and Economic Sciences in Gonaïves. He also taught at nursing schools in Gonaïves. A sports enthusiast, especially in football, he was a founding member of the Gonaïvia team, a prominent football leader, and treasurer of the Eclair team in the Gonaïves football league.

Ronald Pierre was also an outstanding player, winning the national checkers championship and earning the title of "Master" in this game. For dominoes and "besik," he was crowned an "Expert."

His students, colleagues, neighbors, friends, and gaming teammates will remember Master and Expert Ronald Pierre, who passed away on December 1, 2023, after feeling unwell.

Rest in peace, Mèt CHOUCHOU; you played your part well on this earth.
