Obituary

March 14, 1980, in Croix des Bouquet, Haiti the Lord gifted Jean Rene Donat (deceased) and Magel la Antoine with their 6th child out of 8 children and second boy Ronald Jean Donat. Growing up Ronald was an obedient child and ready to serve his family, dependable and encouraging . Thus making him the realest friend you could ever have. He loved to play soccer, host cookouts, coaching, play music, spend time with his friends and many more joyful activities. He was popular in his environment and counted a larger number of friends. He was a man who does not hold grudge, he grew up in the church and loved to serve The Lord. Ronald attended Sunlight Mission school during his childhood in Haiti.

In October 1999 he immigrated to the US where he continued his education at Irvington High School, graduated in 2001. After high school Ronald attended and graduated in 2003 with an associates degree in computer science at Gibbs College. That same year he met his then girlfriend Sharline Volcy whom he married in 2005. From this union he welcomed 2 daughters, Samantha M. Donat and Leah M. Donat who are not only his daughters but his friends. With a youthful spirit, it was in his nature to love and be popular among kids.

Ronald is known as a hard worker. He successfully went from many diverse career paths such as computer tech, cable tech, satellite tech, howmet aerospace assembly worker which was his last job in NJ. All along his ultimate dream was to become a police officer, a dream which he never ceased to pursuit even after 3 attempts at different states. When finally the opportunity presented itself in the state of GA, he did not hesitate and went after his long pursuit. Bravely and unexpectedly, Ronald passed away during training in the morning of October 12, 2021. While it saddened us to see him leave so soon, full of hope and determination. We salute his tenacity and his courage to go after his dream. He is preceded in death by his father Rene Jean Donat.
