Roselaine Barthelemy, a much-loved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, on February 4, 2026, at the age of 73, after a short battle with cancer.
Roselaine was born on July 25, 1952, in Desdunes, Haiti, to her parents, Lutana Mervil and Moise Bien Aime. In 2007, she made her home in West Orange, where she resided until her passing.
A devoted and hardworking woman, Roselaine dedicated her life to caring for and raising her children. As a merchant, she sold various goods to provide her family with a decent and stable life. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family were the foundation of her legacy.
She leaves behind three beloved daughters: Francelle Desir and her husband, Evenson Desir, of West Orange; Dyna Aristhene Pierre and Roselande Aristhene. She also leaves four cherished grandchildren: Stevenson Kirby Desir, Francess Rose Desir, Isabelle Rose Desir, and Sahir Pierre.
Roselaine was the eldest of five children and is survived by her three brothers and one sister.
She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the deep love she had for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
