Roselaine Piezema Obituary

Roselaine Piezema was born on March 29, 1964, in Haute Feuilles, 2nd section of Dessalines, L’Artibonite, Haiti, to the late Aline Charles Altidor and the late Joseph Mavila Piezema. The second oldest of her siblings, Roselaine was known for her academic excellence, strong faith, and compassionate spirit. After spending her early childhood in Gonaives, where she attended L'Ecole Sacré Coeur under Mme Dufort Miton’s guidance, Roselaine moved to Port-au-Prince and continued her education at L'Ecole Saint Louis de Bourdon, led by the Sisters of Charity. In 1982, her father brought her to the United States, where she would continue her education and pursue a life of service and faith. She graduated from East Orange High School in 1984 and earned her certification as a medical assistant the following year. Her years of work at Kessler Rehabilitation Center exemplified her commitment to caring for others, a role she embraced with compassion and dedication. In her later years, she became a devoted caretaker to her parents, demonstrating her love and loyalty to family. A woman of deep faith, Roselaine was heavily involved in her church community, finding purpose in prayer, worship, and acts of kindness. She actively participated in numerous prayer groups and freely shared her wisdom, advice, and the word of God with all who sought it. Known for her generous spirit, Roselaine’s faith was a guiding light for everyone who crossed her path. She was an exceptional cook, bringing people together with her culinary skills, and her love of music filled her home with joy. Roselaine also had a keen sense of style and a love for fashion, which she expressed beautifully, adding elegance to every room she entered. Roselaine is survived by her children - Polywenchow Casseus, Jenny Estime, and Phoebe Alexandra Michel (and her husband, Chris); her grandchildren - Cyndriana St. Germain, Trinity Juliana Harris, Estherlyne Casseus, Caleb Casseus, and Josue Casseus; her siblings - Kerline Piezema, Fonique Piezema (and her husband, Jean Noel Exi), Denis Piezema, Alex Piezema (and his wife, Madje), and Jude Piezema (and his wife, Nancy); her nieces and nephews - Sabrina Noel, Francia Noel, Jeananick Exi, Lateisha Celine Exi, Matthew A. Piezema, Mark Piezema, Annie Grace Exi, Luke Piezema, Messiah Piezema, Hope Piezema, and Faith Piezema; her aunt Erancia Pierre; as well as her countless godchildren and many other friends and relatives who will miss her dearly. On November 1, 2024, Roselaine Piezema was called to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and exceptional cooking that will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew her.
