Rosita Kenol

            Rosita Kenol was born in Potenau Commune, in the village of Grande Saline on November 6, 1949 to Archille Kenol and Therancia Arthur. Rosita, lovingly known as Kele, was the third of ten children in her family and the eldest daughter. Her father loved her so much that he wanted her to stay home instead of being sent away to school.

            Kele was an agriculturist. While in Haiti she took care of all her siblings and the family’s farm. In 1965, she met the love of her life, Guy Jean-Philippe, and together they had six children. In 2009, she was granted the opportunity to migrate to the United States. She left behind her children and her childhood sweetheart, but she always made the effort to go back and visit.

            In America, Kele worked as a caretaker for everyone in her family. She watched and raised all of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She would travel to anyone’s home while they were sick and acted as their own personal aide.

            Kele lived a full life and on June 22, 2021 she was added to the Lord’s circle of angels. Kele will always be in our hearts. Forever cherished by her friends and family.
