Saint Paul Ulysse

April 15, 1959 – October 26, 2020 = 61 years

Saint-Paul Ulysse was born in Potneau, in the village of Grande-Saline on April 15, 1959 to Florida Arthur and Anoméme Ulysse. Saint-Paul began his primary studies in his hometown, and then continued his secondary education in Saint-Marc.

In March of 1980, at 20 years-old, Saint-Paul left Haiti for the United States, thanks to his older brother Michel Ulysse, who was like a father figure to his family. Saint-Paul worked in various jobs before becoming a taxicab driver.

While in the United States, Saint-Paul reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Sidonie Noel. They married and had three children: Kenny Ulysse, Sindy Ulysse, and Paul Ulysse Jr.

Saint-Paul was wise, kind, cool and collected, not a man of many words but was everyone’s favorite. He loved life and dreamed of returning to his motherland, Haiti.

Saint-Paul was the 7th of 10 children in his family:

On November 18, 2019, Saint-Paul had a stroke and was soon hospitalized. Kenny, his eldest son, was one of the many who attempted to do all that he could to assist his father. However, after almost a year of medical treatment, stays at Winchester Gardens, multiple hospital trips, and prayer, Saint-Paul was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Rest in peace, Saint-Paul. He is forever in our hearts.
