Silenta Pierre-Louis Obituary

Silenta “Sobola” Pierre-Louis was born on December 12, 1951 in Desdunes, Haiti to the parentage of the late Saint Pierre Pierre-Louis and the late Eliacine Sylney.  Silenta attended L’Ecole Presbyteral de Desdunes in her hometown Desdunes and continued her education in Culinary School and seamstress school.  She left Haiti at the age 30 where she migrated to the United States in 1981 and left behind her family and friends.

Silenta was a hard worker, strong willed, loving and extremely generous when it came to her food. She worked as a seamstress at Allision Corporation and from Allison, she went to work at General Electric and from General Electric she went to Buckingham at Norwood as a CNA for about 11 years.  Through all her hard work, she dedicated her time and love to her family.  An example of her devotion to Christ and the community, she was part of the catering committee in the church and outside the church.  She truly believed in putting God first, treating people well, working hard and taking care of family.

She left behind her wonderful brothers and sisters Dieugrand Mervilus, Celita St. Louis, Justin St. Louis, Julienne Etienne, Oleine Dazulme, Louverture St. Louis, Marie-Lourdes Paul, Bertha Piersainvil, Ismene Saint-Louis, Phalaine Vital, Georges Pierre-Louis, Charlotte Pierre-Louis and Julson St. Louis. She also leaves behind wonderful nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a host of cousins and relatives.

On Thursday, Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020, Silenta passed away peacefully at St. Barnabas Hospital. She touched the lives of many people with her smile, generosity, opened heart and anointing hands when it comes to her food, all the way to the end. She went home to her Lord for her gracious rest and surely, she will be missed.

On December 24, 2020, she was called home to the Lord. Sharing the memories of her wonderful life are her beautiful brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, family, and friends. We are truly grateful for her love, laughter, positive attitude, and charming spirit. May she rest in peace.
