“I have fought the fine fight, I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Sileres Codiot, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and deeply beloved family man, who passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026.
Sileres was born on September 12, 1941, to his loving parents, Louisina Previlion and Princy, affectionately known as Boudo. He was raised in Haiti, where he developed a deep appreciation for family, faith, perseverance, and responsibility. Sileres was also a twin, sharing a rare and special bond that remained meaningful throughout his life. He was blessed with siblings including Milie Racine, Machina, Rigot, and Benitha, and was surrounded by a large extended family of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
For 53 beautiful years, Sileres was united in marriage to the love of his life, Milie Codiot. Their marriage was a shining example of enduring love, faith, respect, and partnership. Together, they built a strong and loving family rooted in unity and devotion. Sileres leaves behind a lasting legacy through his eight children: Dort, Wesley, Merlange, Merissa, Guerdine, Loudine, Bethenise, and Jason, along with grandchildren and extended family who will forever cherish his memory and the values he instilled in them.
In his early years in Haiti, Sileres worked as a farmer, a role he embraced with pride and dedication. He had a special love for horses and found true joy in working the land. In 1995, he moved to the United States with his family, where he continued to build a life grounded in perseverance, love, and faith. His strong work ethic was matched only by his deep commitment to his family.
A man of strong Catholic faith, Sileres lived a life guided by devotion, humility, kindness, and compassion. His faith sustained him throughout his life and shaped the values he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Sileres will always be remembered for his joyful spirit, warm heart, and gentle nature. He had a unique way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and peace to those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the legacy he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
