Smith Boireau Obituary

Smith Boireau was born on October 31, 1954 at Anse-a-Veau, Haiti. He was the son of the deceased Marcel Boireau and Lucianne Cicot Boireau. Smith was the 4th of the 6 children: Lerette Lystra born Lerette Boireau, Iranna Casimir born Iranna Boireau, Aline Petit-Maitre born Aline Boireau and the late Luce Boireau Sully and Edette Boireau Jocelin. Smith was only the son in the family, and he was called the king of the house.

He had his primary education at the school Rurale D’Anneau and his secondary education at the Lyssee  Boisrond Tonnere of Anse-a-Veau. Since he was a little boy, his dream was to speak English very well. He went to Institute Haitiano of American to fulfill his dream and became fluent in English. He spent most of his time helping American missionaries to spread the gospel throughout Port-au-Prince.

In 1983, he came to Florida for a better life where he worked in a restaurant for 2 years. In 1985 he moved to reside in New Jersey indefinitely and worked as a construction worker for many years. He was loved by all his coworkers and they called him their own. He worked awfully hard to provide for his family.  His only hobby was church, and he loved to play his accordion and his trumpet. He was a devoted father and husband.

On August 16, 2020, he had a massive stroke and a heart attack and he fell in coma for six months.  On February 8th, he gave his last breath and went home to be with the Lord. He survived by:

His wife, Marie-Lyse Boireau;

His sons: Smithty Boireau and Steven Boireau;

His sisters: Lerette Lystra, Iranna Casimir and Aline Petit-Maitre;

His uncle and aunt: Marie Clemaine, Wilner Cherie, and Josette Moise;
