Biography
Soirina Benjamin was born on December 22, 1939 in Plaisance/Nord, Haiti to the parentage of the late Dorvilus Benjamin and Rosilia Alexandre. Soirina left school at 16 years of age to join her mother into business as a merchant.
Soirina was well diverse in travelling to many cities around Haiti to look for better opportunity to make business. As a result of her extensive travels, she was able to start her own business to buying agricultural products from rural areas to Port-Au-Prince as a reseller. In Haitian creole that business is named as (Madan Sara). After so many years of successful accomplishments in business, she finally ended her career to permanently reside in the U.S in 2007.
While residing in the U.S, Soirina cared and provided for her family as an excellent houseperson . She loved to watch Football with her grand kids. Soirina also loved basketball specially when Shaquille O’neal was on the field.
From an early age, Soirina taught her children how to be successful if the parents would pass away. Every Summer when the older son (Alex) was off from school, she put him to work helping her fix up merchandises to destination of Port-au-Prince. While she resided in the U.S, she always cared about the other kids and grand children living in Haiti to sending money, goods etc. Recently, despite her illness she was known as someone with a strong spirit who never gave up.
On November 20, 2020, Soirina was called home to be with Lord.
