Stephanie Theresa Adams

Stephanie Theresa Adams, aka "Williams", peacefully transitioned on July 29, 2025, at her home at 25 Grove Street, East Orange, New Jersey. Born in Guyana on June 25, 1957, to the late Norma Homer, aka Adams, she attended Dolphin Government Primary School and Chatham High School in Georgetown, Guyana. She migrated to the USA in 2012.She was the wife of Raphael Williams. Their relationship lasted for 38 years, after which they entered into marriage, which lasted for 12 years. She was the mother of Nivan Monroe and Andrea Monroe. Devoted grandmother of Mickey, Mia, Abigail, Mel, Shawn Jr., and Ada, who was very fond of her grandmother and indulged in many meaningful conversations that kept Stephanie’s life very joyful.  She was the second of ten siblings: sisters Aileen Blackett, Jacquline Adams, Nichola Adams, and brothers Keith Terrence Adams, Troy Bruce Adams, Eldon Kingston. Stephanie leaves to mourn her beloved nephew, Marvin Nurse, and nieces, Nichola Adams Anthony, Dennecia Garraway, Shondel Adams, and many others too numerous to mention. She is also mourned by her sons-in-law, Shawn Gray and Troy, who showed her immense care and love; her dear friends Pauline and Benny Drayton, Denise Blackman from her building, as well as Vernon, Denise Collison, and many others whose lives she touched. She was employed with Burger Management Company in Newark, NJ, in the housekeeping department, and later with Grove Manor Nursing Home in East Orange, NJ, where she continued to provide dedicated service. She was deeply loved and generous to everyone she encountered. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
