Tamisha Laura Thermitus

Tamisha Laura Thermitus was born on May 25, 1991, in Newark New Jersey, 2 weeks after her anticipated born day.  She was the third and last child of Joseph Ovando Thermitus and Jocelyn Thermitus.  She followed her siblings Wolf Thermitus and Beverly Thermitus.  

She attended Our Lady of Christians private catholic school until 2nd grade when her family moved to Union, New Jersey in 1998. She completed the rest of her primary and secondary education at various schools in Union township such as Central 5 and Burnett middle school. She went on to graduate from Union High School in 2009. She went on to complete her education at Union County College where she acquired a degree in Nursing as registered nurse.  She then worked at Affiliated monitoring since 2019. She was a model employee; her coworkers and mangers loved her spirit, work ethic, and dedication.

Tamisha was a gentle soul who deeply loved her family.  At first glance, she was shy and reserved, but around those with familiar faces she was kind, funny, optimistic, quirky, and truly a beacon of light.  She enjoyed spending time with her siblings and lived her life to the fullest. Her siblings were her two best friends and she regarded them fondly, especially her sister Beverly Thermitus.

Due to being born with sickle cell anemia Tamisha faced many challenges in life. For majority of her childhood, she was hospitalized had to overcome the burdens that came with the disease.  Fortunately, she never let sickle cell anemia deter her spirits and she overcame obstacles with grace and optimism. She was a resilient sickle cell warrior for her thirty-three years of life. Tamisha transitioned on June 8, 2024.  She joins her aunts, uncles, and father. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her courageous mother Jocelyn, her wonderful siblings Wolf and Beverly, her godson/ nephew Kaden, her god-sister Stevania, her brother-in-law Kenel, her friends, her aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins who will forever hold her in their hearts until they reunite one day.
