Good Morning, everyone. We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Tante Saint-fluer.
For anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Ketlanda Simon, and Tante was my grandmother.
My grandma was an incredible woman. She was adored by her three children named Evens,
Janelle, and Ketly Simon, also by her seven grandchildren. Her hard work, her caring nature,
her humor, and her love of life are some of the many traits that characterized this amazing and
loving person.
My grandmother was born on July 16, 1951, in Haiti. She was an amazing mother, who lost
her husband when her children were really young, due to her losing her husband she had to
provide for her kids on her own, since she promised not to get into another relationship for the
sake of her children, she used to open small businesses so she's able to feed and take care of
her children, although she had no one, she still made sure her children had the education they
needed, which is why they are where they are right now.
When I was still in the womb, for about three month, my mother was in haiti, and my
grandmother was here in the U.S, my grandma sent all the things she knew a baby would need
to my mother, she even sent money for me, mind you I wasn't even born yet. Although, she
couldn't see us all the time, she was still involved in our life. My grandma loved everything and
everyone, she didn't deserve this, but we all know that at some point we are all going to leave.
My grandma has been sick since the year 2018, but she fought through it all until she's had
enough. Wherever you are now grandma, I hope that you know we all love and will miss you.
I love my grandmother very much and will miss her dearly. Her life touched so many people,
and I will continue to live my life the way she taught me to, to work hard, to be kind to others,
and to not take myself too seriously. Her humour, her kindness, and selflessness will continue to
inspire those who were lucky enough to know her and be loved by her. Rest in peace, my sweet
grandmother.
