Umainie Pierre-Louis Israel

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Umanie Pierre-Louis Israël. She passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, at Virtua Hospital at the age of 96.
Umanie was born on November 27, 1929, in Anse-à-Veau, Haiti, to her father, Eléonor Michau, and her mother, Cécile Rozier. She was a talented dressmaker, as well as hardworking, strong, and loving.
She was married and was later widowed. She was a devoted mother to her only son, Alix Dorce. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Raymonde Dorce, and her granddaughter, Sarah Dorce.
Umanie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Haiti and a member of the group “Cohorte des Jeunes”, where she enjoyed fellowship. She was also a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church in New Jersey, led by Pastor Joel Valmé.
Umanie will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, hospitality, and the love she shared with family and friends. She welcomed others warmly and made sure no one left her home in the morning without a cup of coffee and some bread. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
