Varius "MÈT VAL" Val Obituary

VARIUS VAL (a.k.a MÈT VAL) February 24, 1934 – March 19, 2026

It is with deep love and remembrance that we celebrate the life of Varius Val, affectionately known as Mèt Val, who departed this life on March 19, 2026. Born on February 24, 1934, in the humble town of Desdunes, Haiti, Varius’s life was a testament to resilience, strength faith, and unwavering love.

Born into modest circumstances and orphaned at three, Varius faced rejection from his father but remained resilient. Raised by his grandmother and supported by his aunt in Saint-Marc, he found solace and purpose. Overcoming hardships, he dedicated himself to education, forging a hopeful future.

His journey of resilience led him to Descahaux-Desdunes, where he began teaching young and old men how to read and write, an act of kindness that earned him the nickname “Mèt Val.” His dedication to learning and teaching embodied his belief in the power of knowledge and the importance of community.

A man of profound faith, Varius Val became one of the first preachers to bring the message of hope and salvation to his community in Desdunes. His dedication to his faith was a guiding light in his life and in the lives of those he touched.

On June 29, 1980, driven by hope and the pursuit of a brighter future, Varius emigrated to the United States, leaving behind his beloved homeland and eleven children, whom his devoted wife Nadilia Val lovingly raised. His journey was arduous and tested his spirit, but through perseverance and divine guidance, he built a life rooted in love, faith, and dedication to his family.

He was a devoted deacon, a formidable and skilled soccer player, and a fair referee. Varius Val shared a life filled with love and dedication, fathering eleven children with my mother, Nadila Val. Their marriage began on April 24, 1958, a union that endured until her passing in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of faith, strength, and family.

Varius Val's legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and all whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a memory of kindness, resilience, and love, a true patriarch and a gentle soul who always put family first.

Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unity. He was a caring father who always emphasized the importance of living together, supporting one another, and sharing joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion, a true beacon of hope and resilience.

Rest in peace, Varius Val (Mèt Val). Your journey has ended, but your legacy lives on in the hearts of your loved ones forever.
