Victor Eubanks Obituary

Early Life:

Victor Eubanks was born and raised in the small farming community of Mount Airy, Mocho, Clarendon, Jamaica. The firstborn of Francis and Julia Eubanks, Victor grew up in a family where hard work, strong values, and a deep spiritual foundation were instilled from an early age. His childhood was marked by the rhythms of rural life, where he learned the values of self-sufficiency and perseverance.

Education & Career:

Victor attended Mount Airy Primary School, where his education began in the heart of a close-knit farming community. From a young age, he developed a love for carpentry, and throughout his life, he pursued woodworking with great passion. His craftsmanship was evident in the hand-made wood carvings and furniture he created many of which continue to decorate the family home today.

Victor’s love for building and construction was a natural extension of his upbringing. He was known for his hands-on approach to life and his meticulous attention to detail, whether in his woodworking or in building projects. One of his proudest achievements was moving his family into a two-bedroom house in Swansea District, Clarendon—a home he built with his own two hands, mortgage-free.

Personal Life:

In 1975, Victor met the love of his life, Bonnet, affectionately known as Yvonne. Their love story spanned over 45 blissful years of marriage. Together, they built a family based on love, respect, and mutual support. Victor was a devoted husband and loving father to four children; his family was his greatest joy.

A disciplinarian at heart, Victor balanced his firm principles with a tender heart. His compassion, kindness, and strong sense of determination were qualities he demonstrated daily. Raised in a spiritual home, Victor made sure to instill these same values in his own children. His parenting was rooted in faith and a strong moral compass.

Legacy:

Victor was a hardworking man, who began his career at the young age of 15 and continued working with immense pride, until he was forced to retire at the age of 75 due to his illness. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he often reminded his children that success was the result of hard work and discipline. He was a man who believed in doing things the right way, with integrity and dedication.

Victor’s love for the outdoors, farming, and carpentry was ingrained in his DNA, and his work and values live on through his family. He was principled, kind, and loved by all who knew him. Whether through his craftsmanship or the lessons he imparted, Victor’s legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Rest Well, Victor.
