It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a devoted loving father, husband, and brother Voltaire Dorceus, born on October 14, 1960, who left us on April 17, 2023. Voltaire will be greatly missed by his beloved family.
Voltaire is survived by his loving wife, Michaelle Dorceus, their children Stanley, Jeffrey, Lindsay, and Stephanie, and their grandson Aiden. Voltaire was predeceased by his cherished parents, Elvia Alcindor and Christian Dornevil Dorceus. Voltaire is also leaves behind loving siblings; Gertrude Dornevil Dorceus, Pierre Andre Dorceus, Jacques Andre Dorceus, Sadrack Dornevil Dorceus, Virginie Dornevil Dorceus, Wilda Dornevil and Jean Claude Dornevil.
A proud graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Haiti in 1980. Voltaire was able to land an honorary position at Hasco, working as an Accountant. Voltaire moved to New Jersey in 1989. He married his loving wife, Michaelle, in 1987. Over the years, they raised a beautiful family together, with their children born on May 18, 1986, March 28, 1988, January 2, 1992, and March 3, 1998. Their first grandchild was born on August 26, 2021, bringing immense joy to their lives.
Voltaire was a dedicated employee, starting his career at Coach USA in 1990 and later joining New Jersey Transit in 2009. A talented and resourceful man, he enjoyed listening to the music of Michael Jackson, Tupac, and T-Vice. Genuine Haitian cuisine always brought a smile to his face.
With a stern but loving personality, Voltaire was passionate about teaching math and taking walks in nature for exercise. The family was at the heart of everything he did, and he believed that in life, there are no friends but family. His greatest accomplishment was having a family, and his legacy will be remembered as humble and loving.
It is with immense respect and gratitude that we remember the lessons and love that Voltaire Dorceus shared with us throughout his life. May his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
