Wilbert Fleurmont

Wilbert Fleurmont was born on May 18,1959 in Saint-Marc, Haiti to the late Martin O Dieu Fleurmont and Marie Blaizinette Louis, the fourth of seven children. Known to be a quiet and intelligent individual as a young adult, he utilized his mathematical skills and became an accountant. In his home, he was a protective sibling, going out of his way to ensure the needs of others were placed before his own. His charm made it easy for his siblings to join in on his love for games.

In 1987, Wilbert migrated to the U.S., settled in New Jersey and completed his education at Union County College. An entrepreneur at heart, he helped start a taxi business in Elizabeth, NJ in the 1990s. A lover of all things fun, he enjoyed meeting and socializing with friends old and new. His generosity and hard work ethic was one to be admired and always left a positive impression on all he met.

Wilbert was reliable and showed up consistently for whatever role he needed to fit in his family’s lives. He adored his precious children, and his nieces and nephews knew if they needed anything, they could count on his easy-going attitude to help. Wilbert’s humor, playful smile and infectious laugh allowed him to share his wisdom in a graceful manner to his grandchildren, nieces, nephews who were eager to hear his stories.

On December 22, 2021, the family was overjoyed when Wilbert made the decision to invite Jesus Christ into his life. And though he did not receive physical healing here on earth, he was spiritually restored when the Lord took him to his home in heaven on January 19, 2022. He is survived by his mother, Marie, children, Shood-Lyne, Angelique, Martin and Kristy, and his six grandchildren, Darrell, Kenneth, Julia, Sariyah, Samantha and Giovanni. He will also be remembered by his siblings Mona Accime, Rones Fleurmond, Eveline Marceant, Leode Laube, Yanic Nestor, Magalie Saint-Elien, his many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
