Biography of Wilbert Pierre

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we gather today to honor and celebrate the life of our dear Father, Wilbert Pierre, who tragically passed away in the fire that consumed his home on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. A man of faith, a philanthropist, a lover of life, and a peacemaker, he touched our lives with his generosity and his smile, leaving behind an immense void and an everlasting memory.

Born on May 7, 1955, in Grande Desdunes, Haiti, Wilbert was the eldest son of the late Mr. Tabernacle Pierre-Paul and the late Mrs. Clermezine Chery Pierre-Paul. His childhood was nurtured by the love and admiration of his parents and grandparents, who instilled in him the values of respect, kindness, and joy of living.

In 1972, he successfully completed his primary studies in Grande Desdunes, then moved to Port-au-Prince to pursue his secondary education under Arontino Petit-Celin. Despite his youth and taste for life’s pleasures, he was deeply drawn to the Lord Jesus Christ, becoming a fervent believer. His evangelical commitment inspired his fiancée, Mirana Israel, to also embrace the Christian faith.

Wilbert and Mirana married in August 1978. A few months later, on December 7, 1978, he immigrated to the United States in search of a better life.

From this union were born four children: Wilberte Pierre-Pigne, Wilbertson Pierre, Fredna Pierre, and Wilmane Pierre. Wilbert also had two other children: Wesline Pierre and Stephanie Pierre.

After the passing of his first wife in 1999, Wilbert found happiness again with Fabiola Belton, whom he married in 2002 and with whom he shared the last years of his life.

A tireless worker, a man of courage and perseverance, Wilbert worked as a taxi driver, a profession that gave him the flexibility to travel regularly to Haiti to support his family. His career was marked by perseverance and above all by his constant desire to help others. Beyond work, he made his life a ministry: Reaching out to those in need, adopting children as his own, and sharing everything he had.

He was a sensitive and generous man, deeply devoted to his family. He provided financial support to his loved ones and made his life an example of solidarity, generosity, and sacrifice.

As a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Wilbert quickly integrated into his community in the United States. His contagious smile, boundless generosity, and spirit of peace touched hundreds of lives. He was a pillar of solidarity and a model of fraternity, turning every encounter into an opportunity to help others.

Wilbert leaves in mourning:

His children: Wilberte Pierre-Pigne, Wilbertson Pierre, Fredna Pierre, Wilmane Pierre, Wesline Pierre, Stephanie Pierre

His grandchildren: Samyca Pigne, Bernice Pigne, Martin Pigne, Zyannah Pierre, Makayla Pierre McCoy, Brian Austin Jean-Philippe, Nova Mirana Pierre.

His brothers and sisters: Kerlange Pierre, Marie Lande Pierre, Balance Pierre, Pierre-Paul Pierre, Wilene Pierre, Robinson Pierre, Figro Pierre, Koteline Pierre

His nieces and nephews: Sindy Derilus, Bionick Pierre (deceased), Pierre Bens Pierre, Pierre-Son Pierre, Stecie Pierre, Giovny Pierre, Wilberman Hermann, Albertha Hermann, Wood Bethsley Pierre, Leika Kellsie Pierre, Abigaelle Pierre, Alisha Pierre, Naham Pierre

His final act of bravery occurred on Tuesday November 18, 2025 when  a fire broke out in his home. Having manage to get everyone out, Wilbert returned into the flames to fight the fire. He never came out alive. He died a hero, faithful to the love and sacrifice that guided his entire life.

Wilbert Pierre will remain etched in our hearts as a jovial man who loved life, a generous man, a devoted husband, a loving father, a philanthropist, a loyal friend, a wise counselor, and a man of great heart.

His memory will continue to inspire and guide us. His legacy of faith, solidarity, love, and generosity transcends his premature passing and will continue to inspire future generations.

Biographie De Wilbert Pierre
