Wilner Fequiere Obituary

Wilner Fequiere: A Life of Resilience and Achievement

Fequiere was born into the vibrant culture of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 6, 1955. As the son of Andre and Marie J. Fequiere, he was raised in a family that instilled in him the values of strength and perseverance. Wilner's early years were marked by a commitment to service, which saw him donning the uniform of his country's military. His dedication to his nation was unwavering, but as political turmoil engulfed Haiti, Wilner found himself at a crossroads that would alter the course of his life.

Journalism and Exile

In the face of adversity, Wilner transitioned from military service to the world of journalism. His pursuit of truth and justice through the written word became his new battlefield. However, the same political instability that had reshaped his career ultimately forced him to seek safety beyond his homeland's borders. In 1993, alongside his wife, Marie, and their children, Wilner embarked on a journey of hope to the United States, settling in Queens, New York.

American Dream and Entrepreneurship

America offered Wilner a canvas to reinvent himself once again. He initially served his new community as an armored security guard, a role that reflected his enduring commitment to protection and order. But it was his entrepreneurial spirit that truly defined his American dream. Wilner launched Fequiere & Sons Photo and Video Production, which became a cornerstone of his career, followed by the addition of EZ Wireless Cell Phone- venture that expanded his influence and marked his success in business.

The World of Automobiles

Not content with achievements in one arena, Wilner, with his son Jean by his side, ventured into the automobile industry.

Together, they built a small dealership from the ground up, combining their technical skills and business acumen. This endeavor was not just a source of income; it was a symbol of Wilner's belief in hard work and self-sufficiency.

Legacy

Wilner was more than the sum of his roles as a soldier, journalist, protector, entrepreneur, and family man-he was a beacon of hope and a pillar of the community. His departure has left a void, but also a rich legacy that continues to inspire and guide those who knew him. The life of Wilner Fequiere stands as a shining example of how one can rise above adversity, forge new paths, and leave an indelible mark on the world.
